Introducing Lynda’s New Website
A Collaboration Between Mother and Daughter
We’re thrilled to welcome you to the official launch of our new website—a space dedicated to celebrating the beauty of Lynda’s artistic creations, brought to life online by her daughter, Kerin.
This is more than just a shop—it’s a place of collaboration, and a window into Lynda’s evolving studio practice. As an artist and maker Lynda’s artistic practice is always evolving as she experiments with new materials, forms and techniques. She enjoys working across a range of mediums including ceramics, paper-based illustration, painting, textiles and most recently small sculptures using copper and enamel.
A Family Venture
Lynda loves her time spent in nature and in the studio dreaming up endless ideas to create ongoing series of work. Lynda’s daughter Kerin Clement lives in Christchurch and this duo love to talk ideas about art and design as well as trading recipes. They are thrilled to work together, with their complementary skillsets, to share her artwork with a wider audience.
Kerin studied textile design at AUT and now works in the furniture design industry where she loves helping people find special pieces as an investment to be enjoyed daily. In a similar vein, for Kerin finding the perfect match for her mother's beautiful artwork to be seen and admired is exciting.
The First Collection: Sculptural Earth
This curated collection brings together ceramics which are united by their organic, naturalistic forms and palette. While these vary from domestic-ware to sculpture all are unmistakably hand crafted by Lynda under her exacting eye. Here experimentation is celebrated such as using nerikomi inlay, with careful consideration of materiality, texture, colour and scale. At times Lynda's surface patterning makes reference to her other favoured mediums, such as her playful illustrations.
What to Expect
This shop reflects Lynda's inventiveness across a wide range of mediums which all bear her idiosyncratic mark. A trademark of Lynda's is her surface treatment and she uses similar mark making across a range of mediums. Her practice is varied and her work is distinctive, other worldly and imaginative – who knows what she will next get up to in the studio, but rest assured it will be surprising, even to Lynda herself! Expect to see a revolving showcase of Lynda's current interests as selected and styled by Kerin.
